Joanna Miller, Registered Physiotherapist

Joanna Miller is a Registered Physiotherapist with 15 years experience in orthopaedic private practice. Joanna has completed post-graduate studies in the fields of manual and movement therapies.

Joanna was initially drawn to the field of physiotherapy in her mid 20s after experiencing its benefits firsthand to address hip pain. Joanna’s practice initially focused on acute injuries and chronic pain using holistic styles of manual therapy that emphasize treating the root cause of dysfunction.

In 2014 Joanna completed a Yoga Teacher Training course. Adding this modality was helpful to some of her patients, especially those with a dedicated yoga practice. Joanna continued to search for an exercise science to better complement her practice and suit more of her clientele.

In 2017 Joanna decided to pursue certification in Stott Pilates Rehab. This work applies to a wide range of conditions for which people typically seek out physiotherapy, and it was a great way to add an active neuromuscular component to treatment sessions.

Joanna has an ongoing passion for pursuing various healing modalities for both professional and personal reasons. She has studied energy medicine and Ayurveda which have influenced her views on how to live a balanced and healthy life. Through practising Classical Pilates, Iyengar Yoga and Kundalini Yoga, Joanna has deepened her awareness of how to move through chronic physical dysfunction and heal injuries.
